Formation of the Interlock Loop: High-voltage interlock connectors form a closed electrical circuit-known as the interlock loop-by connecting the interlock pins of multiple connectors together. This loop is typically connected to the control system of the vehicle or equipment.

 

Detection of the Interlock Signal: When all high-voltage interlock connectors are properly connected and the interlock loop is closed, the control system detects a specific interlock signal. This signal may take the form of a continuous low-level signal or a pulsed signal of a specific frequency. If the interlock loop is interrupted, the interlock signal detected by the control system changes-for instance, the signal may switch to a high level or the pulsed signal may cease.

 

System Response and Protection: When the control system detects an anomaly in the interlock signal-indicating that the interlock loop has been interrupted-it immediately triggers a series of protective measures. For example, in the case of electric vehicles, the control system will rapidly cut off the high-voltage power supply. This prevents the vehicle's high-voltage system from remaining energized when the high-voltage connectors are not properly seated, thereby averting electric shock hazards and damage to electrical components caused by high-voltage leakage.
